Artist's Description
This painting is a combination of views surrounding Lake Poinsett in South Dakota. The moon over the outlet of Lake Poinsett is from my photograph (from September 15, 2008 at 8:06AM). Near the outlet is an old farmstead that had several barns and a house ---all nearly ruined by age, winds and all things from “Mother Nature” (including the animals that call it home). I often walk around this area and easily imagine what it must have been like in the early 1900s when the home was new, kids roamed, and parents worked very, very hard. In this painting, I added the barn, lit from inside as I easily imagine the ‘old days’ and can bet the farmers were up well before sunrise to milk cows and feed the barn’s animals. I hope you like the peacefulness...Enjoy !
